MOVE OUT OF SURVIVAL MODE INTO A CALM, CONNECTED LIFE

Meet Ada Karlstrand,
Marriage and Family Therapist

You’ve been trying to manage for so long and now things need to be different.

Whether you are overwhelmed and anxious, and looking to find a way to make life bearable again, a parent with trauma from parenting a kid with intense behaviors, or someone with food and body image issues that wants some relief, you are welcome here.

I’m Ada Karlstrand and I work with clients who are searching for new ways to navigate their lives.

In my practice, I help my clients learn to regulate their nervous systems, make peace with their critical parts and accept and embrace the whole of their wonderful, imperfect selves.

My overarching goal for all of my clients is that they begin to access and trust that which is within them: their own inherent wisdom. I take a gentle, curious approach to help my clients explore what really matters to them. It is deeply important to me to bring curiosity, respect, creativity, and attuned connection into every session.

First, let's find what truly helps you feel calm, regulated and connected despite the challenges we know life will throw at you. We do this by exploring your unique nervous system, and discovering what body-based and sensory tools bring you back to yourself. Then, after we have created a solid foundation for you, we will safely explore your inner blueprints to find what has kept you from building the life you want and releasing pain of the past. Through our work together, you will build a new understanding and relationship with a very important person: yourself.

One of the most gratifying things about being a therapist is getting to witness clients discovering what they are truly capable of:once they release their past, make peace with warring parts, and learn to live in ways that honor and support their nervous system.

My training in internal family systems and somatic therapy means I have the skills to safely guide you toward living a life aligned with what you truly want. Additionally, I myself have walked the walk: I have learned to listen to what my nervous system is telling me and how to honor even my darkest parts-and made it through to the other side! So when we work together, you can trust I know the way and am so excited to share it with you.
